About Miss Scarlett Black

When I was a child I had an inexplicable interest in a variety of religions. Fascinated by the tales, the rituals, and the sacredness, I began to study. As I matured, I knew I wanted to help others. This all led me to pursue a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. I went on to acquire a M.A. in Philosophy and Religion.

Unfortunately, immediately after graduating with my Master's degree, I married an abusive man. For two years I gave up any of my interests and passions to try to placate him, as well as survive. Once I adopted Nevermore, my beloved raven, I was able to find the strength to leave the abuse. However, I was then wallowing in a deep depression. The only thing that kept me alive was Nevermore.

It was not until one fateful day, when my friend told me to read about Lilith, did I begin to find some meaning in my story. I rediscovered my passion for mythology, the ancient tales and rituals that had fascinated me for so many years. Finally free to explore, I began to sit with these goddesses and listen to their stories.

I found solace in their struggles, and inspiration in their triumphs.
After six years, I began to host a goddess study group with a small group of women in my home. Together we told the tales of the goddesses that inspired us to continue on with our individual stories.

In a surprising twist, a male friend encouraged me to share my knowledge with others. Hesitant at first, I eventually began to give talks to small groups of women and men at my local libraries. It is wonderful watching the eyes of the listeners come alive when a myth resonates with their personal story.

So, here I am. I believe that what you have been taught to fear, suppress, or reject in yourself often contains the very power you need to fully become whole self.
Join me and let's co-create something magical.
